Ethics in Construction: Managing Difficult Decisions

Every day we are faced with choices that have wide reaching effects. Often, these decisions are complex and challenging, requiring us to balance what is right and ethical against what may be easier or more convenient. Please join us for an open discussion of scenarios and possible ways of handling them. Together, we’ll look at solutions from both ethical and practical perspectives. Attendees will gain insight into the reasoning process behind making sound, ethical decisions based on the information available.

Tom Dzagan, PE, CCM, is the New England Engineering Construction Deputy Program Manager at STV. With 18 years in the AEC industry and experience spanning commercial, municipal, transportation, and utility infrastructure projects, Tom supports multidisciplinary design, project management, and construction programs across the region. He holds a BA in Civil Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology and an MS in Civil Engineering from Ohio University.

  

Christopher Coyle, PE, CCM,  Associate, Regional Team Leader @ CDM Smith

Christopher Coyle, PE, CCM is a Construction Manager and Regional Team Leader at CDM Smith. He has over 30 years’ experience in construction and construction management and has managed projects involving highway construction, bridge rehabilitation, commercial construction, residential development, municipal facilities, and infrastructure improvements. He obtained his B.S in Civil Engineering/Construction Technology from Central Connecticut State University. Chris currently manages a team of skilled construction services Construction Managers, Project Managers, Administrators, and Inspectors supporting municipal and infrastructure projects throughout Connecticut.
