SUMMARY:Project Tour: Windsor Locks Train Station
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a "sneak peak" tour and overview of the Windsor Locks Station project\, a key investment along the Hartford Line that will transform rail service and enhance connectivity in the region. This $65 million project features a new ADA-compliant\, 510-foot high-level rail platform with train level boarding\, improved access to the Canal Trail via Bridge Street\, expanded parking\, and complementary upgrades that support the Town of Windsor Locks' Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) plans. The project also included 1.5 miles of Amtrak rail upgrades\, and the construction of a new maintenance-of-way yard.In addition to the new downtown Windsor Locks Station\, the project team will also touch on related improvements under a separate contract\, including the reconstruction of Route 159\, the closure of Church Street at Route 159\, and the reconstruction of 1000 feet of multi-use trail. The tour will be led by members of the project team\, offering unique insight into the design\, inspection\, and program oversight of this transformative infrastructure project:Rudy Frianciamore\, HNTB Designer of civil elements of the projectSteve Maleryn\, AI Engineers Construction inspection and EngineeringRobert Braren\, Michael Baker International Station designerChristopher Bonsignore\, WSP Program manager overseeing the entire rail programThis tour is a rare opportunity to hear directly from the experts shaping the future of rail in Connecticut and to see firsthand the progress toward completion of this critical transportation hub.Directly following the tour\, join us for networking and light apps @ The Tavern at Keney Park.*In the event of inclement weather\, the presentation portion of the program will be held at The Tavern at Keney Park instead of at the Windsor Locks Station site.
